Bishop Gilbert T. Rouse is a member of the Executive Board of Bishops of the Sounds of Praise Pentecostal Fellowship Ministries, Inc. He is also the Bishop of the Foreign Mission Worldwide, the 9th Jurisdictional Bishop, and the former Bishop of the Women and Missionary Department of the Sounds of Praise P.F.M. Bishop Rouse was called into the ministry in 1959 and later that same year he joined the United States Armed Forces where he served eight years. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and thereafter went into ministry to fulfill his calling. Bishop Rouse attended the Manhattan Bible School to prepare himself for the ministry. In 1970 he received his first assignment to pastor in Mount Vernon, NY. In 1972 his ministry was transferred to Stamford, CT. Since then, he has pastored 5 other churches with his wife and family by his side. As being the Bishop of the Foreign Mission Department, Bishop Rouse has worked in many countries and territories around the world including Jamaica W.I., Hades, Philippines, India and Africa with anticipated work in the Dominican Republic in the near future. He is the husband of one wife Bishop G. Elizabeth Rouse for over 50 years, a loving father of 4, grandfather of 6, God fearing preacher, worldwide traveler, and a friend to many. Bishop Rouse has pastored for over 40 years, 10 of which were served at Greater Mt. Carmel SOP, Bridgeport, CT. Bishop Gilbert T. Rouse is worthy of double honor and full of integrity. He is a man of God who has served his country, but continues his service as a soldier in the army of the Lord and a friend worth while having.
